At Sunflour Kitchen, I am passionate about baking and creating delicious breads for my customers. I believe in using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients to ensure that every bite will make you go "Mmmmm". My cottage kitchen is located in Winter Garden, FL, where I reside with my husband and two fur-babies, Odin and Koda. I'm a "foodie" at heart and I love sharing my creations with family, friends and strangers alike. Any dish I make, I like to research, read through different recipes, gather my favorite ingredients and methods to create my own. I also follow family recipes and techniques, where my passion for cooking and baking really stems from, my Mother and Grandmothers kitchens. How it Started
In January 2023, through the guidance and inspiration of a couple of bread enthusiast friends, I decided to finally take on Sourdough. It has been my family's favorite bread since I can remember, and somehow, I missed the craze during the 2020 "stay-at-home" (I was too busy watching all the live music performances being streamed). So, only now have I created my own starter, lovingly calling it my "Doughter" (sourDOUGH-starTER). I call it this because, Starter, aka Levain, is a living culture. It needs consistent care, food (flour), water, and a favorable environment to allow the wild yeasts and lactic acid bacteria to thrive and ferment. You really have to love it to keep it growing healthy and strong... much like a Daughter! When I started this journey, it just clicked for me. My Doughter grew perfectly in my first attempt and I have been keeping up with it since. My naturally leavened loaves are full of flavor, have a crunchy crust on the outside and a soft, airy crumb on the inside. These breads make amazing toasts and the toppings are endless.
